Dear Editor:
It is time to vote again. Please re-elect County Commissioner Virginia Love on June 28.
Mrs. Virginia (Ginny) Love knows how to be a servant for the people of Rio Blanco County. Growing up on a farm up Strawberry, she learned about hard work early on as she helped her dad to pull weeds. For 22 years, she and her husband Sam were in the ranching business. Prior to that she served the public 10 years as a law enforcement dispatcher, worked as a bank teller, as a medical oxygen company representative and recently as a receptionist for Pioneers Medical Center and now as our County Commissioner. She has served for many years on the RBC planning commission and is a current member of the 9th District Judicial Commission. She was always involved with her four boys in school activities. Ginny is all about kindness and relationships as she does not know a stranger. Ginny will listen. She is a communicator and does what she says she will do and will always follow up on requests and communications. She has a vision for our communities and leads with ideas and concepts. She is a fierce patriot and a staunch defender of our freedom to speak our mind, carry our arms and most of all the right to vote and have our votes counted. Vote for Ginny as kindness and truth matter…

Assessor available in Rangely by appointment
Dear Editor:
It has been brought to my attention that the residents at the west end of Rio Blanco County would like to have someone from the Assessor’s Office there to meet with.
I have always been available to visit with people in Rangely, either at their property or the County Annex building. However, I am not one to sit around and wait for people to stop by because I believe there is always work to be done in the field. Therefore, if at any time you wish to set up an appointment with me I will meet you. If not, please note that my employees are in Rangely several times a month and are out checking properties, they can meet with you as well.
As always, please feel free to give me a call. I am always happy to work with anyone whether you live in the county or not.

Logan County sheriff endorses Mazzola
Dear Editor:
I am writing this letter of support for Sheriff Anthony Mazzola.
As a native of Rio Blanco County and the current Sheriff of Logan County, I have known Sheriff Mazzola for as long as I can remember. I have had the pleasure of serving with him the last eight years and have seen his passion for the office of Sheriff and the passion serving the people of Rio Blanco County. I believe he has served you his entire career, even as an investigator with the DA’s Office.
Like me and other sheriffs, Sheriff Mazzola has had to make tough decisions during his time in office and not all decisions are popular, but necessary. I have worked with Sheriff Mazzola not only through the County Sheriffs of Colorado, but on a personal basis on some issues that affected both our counties. During these times, good decisions were made which made our agencies better, not only for us, but for Sheriff’s Offices across the state.
I have read several things which stated Sheriff Mazzola was a ME Sheriff. That is far from the truth. He, like me and many other sheriffs, sit on committees, whether [we are] appointed or we volunteered to represent the County Sheriffs of Colorado on a particular committee. Some sheriffs are more familiar with issues than others in different areas and it is great to be represented by knowledgeable people in those areas. For example, Sheriff Mazzola was instrumental in getting SB22-71 passed which affects backcountry search and rescue. So sitting on thse committees and commissions doesn’t make you a ME sheriff, it makes you a compassionate sheriff who not only cares for his/her county, but all of our counties and communities throughout the state.
All of our counties are different and all of us have different challenges and tough decisions to make to better serve oru communities and constituents. I believe Sheriff Mazzola is the person you want to lead the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office into the future.

Be kind to postal workers
Dear Editor:
This is also addressed to the citizens of Meeker and Rio Blanco County. Are you aware that our local post office is currently employed with only two women? This post office is supposed to have four employees. So if there has been an error with your mail, please try to be patient and understand the pressure the two women are handling. I personally applaud them for the job they are doing to serve the public to the best of their ability.
