RBC I The Rio Blanco County 4-H Livestock Judging Team competed in a double-header judging event over the May 16 weekend. They were the reserve champion team at Tri River Arena on Friday and fell to third in Gunnison on Saturday.
The county team competed in eight judging contests this season. They were the champion team at four of those contests, reserve champs at two and have the honor of sending Macy Collins, Samantha Lapp and Kenzie Turner to the Colorado State Fair later this summer for the Colorado 4-H Junior All-State Livestock Judging Team recognition ceremony.
This group of juniors had an outstanding run this year and the future looks bright. Lapp and Collins move up to the senior division next season and RBC will be in great shape at the junior and senior levels in 2015.
Madi Shults and Ty Dunham are preparing for the state contest held at the June 4-H Conference at Colorado State University in a couple of weeks.
Shults earned all-state accolades on the senior team as well. This will mark her fifth consecutive year earning all-state recognition as one of Colorado most consistent and successful 4-H livestock judges.
The team members and parents will be constructing a comprehensive list of team and individual accomplishments that will be ready for print after the Colorado State Fair as well as a Powerpoint presentation that will be made available to all fans, family and sponsors.
For anyone interested in looking up the contest results for this season, they can visit winjudge.com for a complete listing of results of all the Colorado 4-H livestock judging contests held in 2014.
