RIO HAPPENINGS: JANUARY 15 – 21, 2023

ARRESTS

A 44-yr. old female was arrested on 1/18/23 for domestic violence, harassment and criminal mischief. A PR bond was granted on 1/19/23 by Magistrate Shamis
A 32-yr. old male was arrested on 1/18/23 for domestic violence, harassment and child abuse. A PR bond was granted on 1/19/23 by Magistrate Shamis 

CALL SUMMARIES

1/15/2023 @ 6:56 pm. A vehicle struck a cow (a moo cow) near the 67 mile-marker on Highway 139. The driver was not injured and the cow had to be removed from the highway.
1/17/2023 @ 4:52 pm. A single vehicle accident occurred on Highway 13 north of Meeker. The vehicle went off the bridge and landed in a culvert that was approximately 15-20 feet deep. There were two passengers. One passenger was transported to the hospital.
1/18/2023 @ 9:24 am. A domestic occurring inside a vehicle was reported on Highway 13 north of Meeker. A female party was subsequently arrested.
1/19/2023 @ 1:44 am. Domestic violence was reported in the town limits of Meeker. A male party was taken into custody.


1/19/22023 @ 5:28 pm. An unwanted party was called into the Communications Center at a residence on the eastern end of Rio Blanco County. It was unbeknownst to the homeowner that someone had called the Sheriff’s Office to have the person removed and the party was able to stay.
1/20/2023 @ 3:39. A car accident with injuries occurred at approximately the 1 mile-marker on County Road 24. The victim was transported via Careflight to the hospital.
1/21/2023 @ 5:03 pm. A hitchhiker was reportedly jumping into traffic on Highway 13 north of Meeker. Upon the officers’ arrival he was unable to locate.

The snow storm wreaked havoc on travelers this week. As a result, there were several vehicle slide-offs that were reported to the Communications Center.
