Cowboy XC preps for Craig

MEEKER | The Meeker Cross Country team was at the Siena Golf Club in Gypsum for the Eagle Valley Invitational on Saturday. Haylee Steele ran a 29:45 in the girls’ race, her best time of the season, for 107th place. The boys’ race found Aidan Tapia as our first runner to the finish line, and 90th place overall, at 22:06. Cameron Hanberg was just a few seconds behind his personal best at 23:09 and 111th place. Remy Broussard, in 140th place, was also close to his previous best time, finishing in 32:18. From head coach Marty Casey: “This was a new location for the Eagle Valley race, and some excellent competition. We continue to see a really good effort from our squad.” Meeker will be at Loudy-Simpson Park in Craig for the Moffat County Invitational this coming Saturday, with high school races starting at 9:45 a.m.
