MHS art students to denver …

Several Meeker High School students traveled to the Cherry Creek Art Festival and Denver Art Museum on July 5-6. They were invited to the festival to participate in the Janus Student Art Buying Program. Nishiko Thelen, Dominick Cardile and Paige Jones were representatives from MHS. Twenty-four programs in Colorado were selected to participate in program, and MHS was one of two high-school-level programs and the only Western Slope school to participate. <span id=

According to MHS art teacher Ben Quinn, the MHS students had the unique opportunity to go from being spectators to patrons as the Janus Foundation gave our students $500 to select work they felt represented the interests of MHS students. The works will be displayed at various buildings around the Meeker School District. The students were to interact, ask questions and examine work of well-known artists from across the nation.
