ARRESTS

A 40-year-old male was arrested on 4/15/2024 for DUI. A PR bond was granted 4/16/2024.

A 36-year-old male was arrested on 4/16/2024 on a Rio Blanco County Domestic Violence warrant. A PR bond was granted 4/17/2024.

A 44-year-old male was arrested on 4/21/2024 on violation of a protection order. A PR bond was granted 4/22/2024.

CALL SUMMARIES

4/15/2024 @ 2:50 pm. A hit-and-run accident occurred at approximately the 17 mile-marker Highway 13. The reporting party stated the driver went off the road and through a fence, got his bearing again, and continued northbound on Highway

13. Colorado State Patrol and Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle at the 33 mile-marker and conducted a traffic stop. The driver failed roadside

maneuvers and was taken into custody for DUI. The English speaking driver suddenly only knew the Navajo language once he was in custody.

4/16/2024 @ 3:13 pm. A male party that was wanted on a domestic violence warrant was located and taken into custody without incident at a local hotel in the town limits of Meeker. He was transported to jail by Meeker PD.

4/17/2024 @ 3:22 am. A car vs elk resulted in a deceased elk and a vehicle that was not driveable. The accident occurred at the 19 mile-marker on Highway 13. Although there was heavy damage to the small vehicle, the driver was not injured.

4/17/2024 @ 1:12 pm. The drama llama from last year reappeared on Highway 13 as it was standing on the side of the highway. The llama’s owner was notified and took care of it.

4/19/2024 @ 1:37 pm. A neighbor burning branches in the town limits of Meeker was contacted by police and advised they cannot do that in town limits.
