ARRESTS
A 14 year-old male was arrested by Meeker PD after a motor vehicle theft. He was issued a summons and released to his parents.
CALL SUMMARIES
5/12/2024 @ 4:00 am. A one-vehicle rollover occurred at County Rd 13/County Rd. 4. No injuries were reported.
5/14/2024 @ 2:24 pm. A wildland fire was reported near the Deserado Mine Rd near the county line. Rangely Fire Dept. and BLM Fire were notified. A deputy checked the area and was unable to locate any signs of a fire.
5/16/2024 @ 11:11 am. Dispatch received a report of a female in the river clinging onto a bridge near the Green Cabins. What the deputies found was someone’s inflatable girlfriend. Deputies retrieved the inflatable doll from the water. Her remains were properly disposed of.
5/16/2024 @ 4:06 pm. A Town of Meeker vehicle was stolen by a juvenile. The driver crashed in the town limits of Meeker however continued on his way out of town. The vehicle crashed again on Highway 64/County Rd 16. The driver was not injured and taken into custody. He was issued a summons for 2nd degree aggravated motor vehicle theft over $20,000, careless driving and driving without a valid driver’s license.
5/18/2024 @ 7:05 pm. A traffic complaint came into the Communications Center regarding a motorcycle that was traveling at a high rate of speed on County Road 4. A deputy located the motorcycle and conducted a traffic stop. At the time the driver was not speeding but was still issued a Citation for failing to use a turn signal and modified exhaust.
5/18/2024 @ 8:20 pm. A traffic complaint passed on from Garfield County resulted in a traffic stop by a Rio Blanco Deputy at 13th/Market. The driver was issued a citation for speed and failing to maintain a single lane.
