RIO HAPPENINGS: JULY 14-20, 2024

ARRESTS

A 40-year-old female party was arrested on a Rio Blanco County Felony Warrant for Dangerous Drugs on 7/18/2024. She was released 7/19/2024 on a PR Bond.

A 28-year-old male was arrested on 7/22/2024 by Colorado State Patrol for Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs or Both and Careless Driving. He remains in custody.

A 22-year-old male was arrested on 7/22/2024 by Rangely PD on a felony warrant for Sex Assault on a Child. He was transported to jail and remains in custody.

CALL SUMMARIES

7/15/2024 @ 4:56 pm. A Meeker PD officer was flagged down regarding a disturbance that was occurring at a local business. It was reported that a domestic violence situation with weapons was in progress. Once officers arrived on scene the domestic was a party that was upset about their EBT card not working. There was no crime, argument or weapons.

7/15/2024 @ 6:53 pm. A wildland fire near County Road 76 was reported to the Communications Center. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. and BLM Fire responded. BLM fire remained on scene for the night. Meeker Volunteer Fire cleared the scene at 9:51 pm.

7/17/2024 @ 3:15 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD on a bomb threat at the Rangely Airport. The airport was evacuated and searched. No explosive device(s) were found. The investigation is ongoing through the Rangely Police Dept and FBI.

7/17/2024 @ 10:11 pm. A single-vehicle DUI crash occurred near 840 County Road 4. The single occupant was transported to the hospital and issued a summons for DUI, Careless Driving, Open Alcoholic Beverage Containers in a Motor Vehicle, and Open Marijuana Container in Motor Vehicle.

7/18/2024 @ 3:30 pm. A 40 year-old female was located and arrested on a felony warrant for Dangerous Drugs in the town limits of Meeker. Upon the officer’s search, after taking her into custody, illegal drugs were found and she was issued a summons for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

7/20/2024 @ 2:36 am. Another single-vehicle DUI crash occurred at approximately the 4.5 mile marker on County Road 4. One occupant was ejected. The second occupant was injured as well. Both male parties were taken to the hospital. Colorado State Patrol responded to investigate the accident. 

Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the Rally that took place in Rangely over the weekend.
