RIO HAPPENINGS: SEPT 8-14, 2024

ARRESTS

9/10/2024- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 37-year-old female was arrested for Assault in the Third Degree. She was released on 9/10/2024 on a PR bond.

9/10/2024- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 44 year-old male for an out of county warrant.

9/13/2024- Colorado State Patrol arrested a 45-year-old male for Driving a Vehicle while Under the Influence of Alcohol & Drugs or both, Careless Driving, Drank from/possessing an Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in a Motor Vehicle and Failing to Present Evidence of Insurance Upon Request. He was released on a cash  bond 9/14/2024.

9/15/2024- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 54-year-old male for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, Possessing and Open Alcoholic Container in Vehicle, Improper Use of Spotlight/Fog Lamps, Drove without Valid Driver’s License and Resisting Arrest.

CALL SUMMARIES

9/8/2024 @ 12:33 am. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with an uncooperative male at the hospital.

9/8/2024 @ 9:15 am. A male party was trespassed from the Trail & Hitch after he had been told several times he could not be there. A trespass notice was issued by the Sheriff’s Office.

9/8/2024 @ 12:07 pm. A one car rollover occurred at the 48 mile-marker on Highway 13. Three occupants were transported to the hospital. 

9/9/2024 @ 5:54 pm. A wildfire was reported near County Rd. 71. The total size of the fire was 89 acres on private land. The fire was contained at 11:41 pm on 9/10/2024.

9/10/2024 @ 1:27 am. A female party was arrested on domestic violence charges. A male and female pulled up to a deputy that was on routine patrol and the male advised that the female had hit him. After further investigation, the female was taken into custody and transported to jail.

9/10/2024 @ 2:25 pm. A fatal one-car accident occurred on County Road 1. Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash.

9/10/2024 @ 4:54 pm. A male party on Highway 139 reported to be walking with a sign and a bike definitely got the ride he needed. Upon the deputy’s arrival, the male had a warrant and was transported to jail.

9/12/2024 @ 1:44 pm. What is known as the Tschuddi Fire started around this time. The Communications Center has received several smoke report calls over the last few days. As of this writing, the size of the fire is 506 acres.

9/13/2024 @ 2:26 pm. A one car rollover crash occurred at the intersection of County Rd 8/ County Rd 4. The single male occupant was intoxicated and injured. He was transported to the hospital and later transported to jail. Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash.
