“We just wanted to honor some of the veterans in our community that served in the armed forces and this is what we do best so we make what we’ve seen,” Jan Keller, member of Rio Blanco Stitchers, stated. The sewing group created 11 patriotically themed quilts for veterans as a way to say thank you for their service. The quilts were blessed by Father Scott Hollenbeck at St. James Episcopal Church Sunday before being given to veterans during the annual luncheon at Barone Middle School on Tuesday.
