Blue Christmas Service Friday, Dec. 20
MEEKER | Christmas can be a difficult time of year and the holidays aren’t always merry and bright. If you are carrying grief, loneliness, or heartache this season you are not alone. The Blue Christmas service is a special worship service offering gentle sanctuary for those who find the cheer of the holidays overwhelming. Join the Meeker United Methodists for service on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. for comfort and healing during this season at St. James’ Episcopal Church, 368 4th St., Meeker, Colorado.
Help the homeless or those less fortunate during the cold season
MEEKER | Looking for blankets, sleeping bags, coats, shoes, boots, hats and gloves for all ages, tarps or tents, hygiene products for women and men, sanitary products for women (no tampons), chapsticks, hand warmers, or anything to keep people warm during this cold season and to bless someone who may not be able to keep warm or have a warm place to sleep. Drop off items through December at Western Slope In-Home Care (1033 Market St.) or Pioneers Medical Center (100 Pioneers Medical Center Dr.) or reach out to Faith at 970-942-3216.
Celebrate New Year’s with Meeker Skijor
MEEKER | Plan to attend Meeker Skijor’s New Year’s Eve dance and live music event at the 4-H Building Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. $10 cover charge, 12 and under free. Enjoy the music of Joey Rowland. The 5th annual Skijor races are Jan. 4 and 5.
