Community volunteers and members of VFW Post 5843 gathered last Friday afternoon to gather and fold more than 200 flags to be officially retired. When flags are deemed to be no longer suitable for display due to weathering, damage, or wear and tear, they are folded into the traditional triangle shape, presented to a designated leader, and later burned in a dignified ceremony.
