Happy Herald Day!
Due to a recent scheduling change at the printer, this week’s pages were already headed to press when the unofficial hospital district election results were released Tuesday night. Unfortunately, “stop the presses” only works when the press is in your own building — and your newspaper is the only thing on the schedule.
That means the results won’t appear in print until next week, but you can find them below online. No matter which candidates you supported, that was a remarkably strong turnout for a special district election. Consider it a warm-up for the primaries coming up at the end of June.
In the meantime, this week’s paper is still packed: local meetings, sports, opinions, editorials and all the community-submitted happenings that make up YOUR local weekly newspaper.
And finally, Happy Mother’s Day this Sunday to all who celebrate. Consider this your reminder to make the call, send the card, or say the prayer — whether it’s gratitude, forgiveness or a little of both.
