Sullivan receives STAR Scholarship

MEEKER | P.E.O. Chapter BA hosted its 102nd Senior Girls Party on Monday, May 4. The theme of this year’s event was “Sunshine and Smiles” and included dinner.
The local chapter, part of the Meeker community since 1919, has documented scholarships awarded to Meeker High School women since 2012, with a total of $94,100 awarded.
The chapter recognized the following students who received P.E.O. scholarships this year: Rylee Sullivan, Jacey Follman, Lilly Newman, Addison Knowles, Braydin Raley, Emma Bauer, Sidney Keetch and Autumn Stallings.
Sullivan, a Meeker High School senior, was also selected to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood. The competitive scholarship recognizes exceptional high school senior women who demonstrate leadership, academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, community service and potential for future success. Established in 2009, the STAR Scholarship supports students attending accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States or Canada.
Sullivan also received an award for maintaining the highest GPA in English during her four years of high school, while Knowles received an award for maintaining the highest GPA in math and science during her four years of high school.
P.E.O., founded in 1869, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women through educational scholarships, grants, awards and loans. The organization has more than 5,400 chapters across the United States and Canada.

Members of the P.E.O. Meeker Chapter BA presented Meeker High School Senior Rylee Sullivan with the STAR Scholarship at the annual senior girls dinner hosted by the Chapter.

Senior girls from the Meeker High School Class of 2026 were celebrated at the 102nd annual Senior Girls Party at Richards Hall on Monday, May 4, hosted by the P.E.O. Chapter BA.
