Meeker chamber golf tournament debuts at Meeker Golf Course

MEEKER |  This past weekend, The Meeker Chamber of Commerce hosted its inaugural golf tournament May 30 at the Meeker Golf Course, bringing together local businesses, community members and golf enthusiasts for a day centered on friendly competition, community connection and summer recreation.

The four-person scramble format drew teams of all skill levels to the course on a cloudy, rainy day, where participants competed in a relaxed but competitive atmosphere. Organizers said the event was designed to create a new community tradition while also supporting chamber programs and strengthening local business relationships.

When the final scores were tallied, the team of Rubin, Rubin, Henderson and Henderson claimed first place. The team of Crawford, Crawford, Stewart and Stewart finished in second, while Arnold, Zollie, Franks and Franks rounded out the top three in third place.

Throughout the day, golfers also took part in on-course contests and had opportunities to win additional prizes, adding to the lighthearted competition and overall community atmosphere.

The chamber expressed appreciation to all event sponsors whose support helped make the tournament possible, along with volunteers who assisted throughout the day with registration, contests and event operations. Special thanks was also given to the Meeker Golf Course staff for hosting and helping ensure the event ran smoothly.

Organizers said the strong community turnout and positive feedback have already sparked excitement about continuing the tournament in future years, with hopes of establishing it as an annual Meeker tradition.
