Special to the HT
MEEKER | Summer is officially underway in Meeker, and the Chamber has been busy preparing for another exciting season of events and activities.
The Meeker Chamber held its first annual Golf Tournament on May 30 at the Meeker Golf Course. The event was a great success, bringing together local businesses and community members for a day of friendly competition while raising funds to support Chamber programs and services. Congratulations to our winning teams: 1st Place – Rubin, Rubin, Henderson, and Henderson; 2nd Place – Crawford, Crawford, Stewart, and Stewart; and 3rd Place – Arnold, Zollie, Franks, and Franks. We would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers, participants, and the Meeker Golf Course for helping make the tournament possible. As a nonprofit organization, support from events like this helps us continue our work promoting local businesses and strengthening the community.
The first Meeker Market of the season is just around the corner. We are excited to welcome 30 vendors offering a variety of local products, handmade goods, food, and services on June 12 in downtown Meeker. The market continues to grow each year and provides a great opportunity for residents and visitors alike to support local businesses and entrepreneurs. Our next market will be held on June 26, and we encourage everyone to come downtown and enjoy all that the market has to offer.
The Chamber and Visitor Center assisted 78 visitors during the month of May. As the summer travel season gets underway, we continue to welcome travelers from across Colorado and beyond, providing information on lodging, recreation opportunities, local businesses, and upcoming events. Thanks to Lodging Tax funding, the Chamber continues to partner with Vinrock Media on a tourism marketing campaign promoting Meeker as a destination for outdoor recreation, events, and small-town experiences. During May, the Chamber fulfilled more than 50 visitor guide requests from individuals interested in learning more about Meeker and the surrounding area.
Planning is also underway for the 4th of July Parade. This year’s theme is “Freedom in the Wild West – Celebrating 150 Years of Colorado and 250 Years of Freedom.” We encourage businesses, organizations, clubs, and individuals to participate in this community tradition. Registration is free, but participants are asked to register in advance so we can properly organize the parade lineup. Registration forms are available through the Meeker Chamber & Visitor Center.
As always, thank you to our members, volunteers, community partners, and local businesses for your continued support. We look forward to another busy and successful summer season in Meeker.
