ARRESTS
6/1/2026- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 55 year-old male for Drove Vehicle with Blood Alcohol Content of 0.08 or more, Drank From/Possessed an Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in a Motor Vehicle, Drove Vehicle Other Than Vehicle Equipped with Approved Ignition Interlock Device. He was issued a summons and released to a sober party.
CALL SUMMARIES
6/1/2026 @ 2:54 pm. What started as a routine traffic stop for running a stop sign quickly turned into “how many charges can fit on one citation” kind of afternoon. The driver was ultimately arrested for DUI along with several additional charges, proving once again that stopping at a stop sign is usually the cheaper option.
6/1/2026 @ 5:03 pm. A female shopper at Dollar General apparently misunderstood the meaning of “self-checkout” and helped herself to merchandise from behind the counter. She was later located and issued a Trespass Notice and a Summons for Theft-Less Than $300/Shoplifting.
6/2/2026 @ 3:57 pm. The Communications Center received a 911 hangup call near the 21 mile-marker on Highway 13.The call turned out to be less of an emergency and more of a gravity experiment after a phone took an unexpected dive out of the vehicle window.
6/5/2026 @ 6:05 pm. An ATV rollover occurred on County Road 102. As a result one person was transported to the hospital.
6/6/2026 @ 6:20 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Dinosaur Marshall’s Office with a DUI arrest.
