U.S Army veteran Ken Culler of Meeker is surrounded by students at Barone Middle School in Meeker on Nov. 11. Barone and its students played host to all invited area veterans on Veterans Day, feeding lunch to the veterans and then putting on skits to remember and to thank the area veterans for their service to their country.
Colleen Patterson explains on Veterans Day at Barone Middle School that the VFW Ladies Auxiliary is now the V.F.W. Auxiliary (men are able to join) while the Barone students perform to the words that Patterson sang in “My Little Soldier.” All area veterans were invited to enjoy lunch at Barone, then the students performed skits related to Veterans Day.
