Letter to the Editor: Surprise from Barone StuCo appreciated

Dear Editor:
Recently, we attended a Barone Middle School assembly where we presented the Patriot’s Pen Award to Kolbi Franklin. We were asked to remain at the front while the Barone Student Council presented us with an envelope containing proceeds from their sale of refreshments at sporting events during the past year.
I was quite moved by this unexpected donation from these outstanding young people. Our community and parents can be proud of their thoughtfulness in this gift.
