MEEKER | The FFA program held an FFA spirit week for the school during the week of Feb. 19-22. Every day students had to dress as something different, and there was an event every day as well.
Monday was pun day, and everyone dressed as a pun. The event that day was a kickoff barbecue to start the week. Tuesday was Wild West day, and the event was teacher appreciation. The FFA team came in to school early and they made breakfast for the entire staff. The program also got little gifts for the staff, as well as everyone in the program wrote a thank-you letter to their favorite teacher. On Wednesday everyone had to dress as farm animals. The event for that day was eighth grade orientation. The junior officers created a presentation and they went to the middle school to show the eighth graders what FFA is about. Afterwards they all went to the high school where they made them lunch. On Thursday, the students dressed in blue and gold. The event for the day was Carey the Cow. For this event FFA students visited the kindergarteners and taught them about cows and agriculture by reading to them and putting on activities.
“It’s a great opportunity to teach people about FFA and get people involved to have some fun. Everybody loves participating, and it a great way to have fun during the week. It a good tradition that I think gets better every year,” said FFA member Emily Beene.
