MEEKER | Another Meeker Cowboy football season is just around the corner and the team has a full schedule over the next couple of weeks leading up the first game. This weekend, Aug. 4, the 2018 Cowboy Kickoff Classic will be hosted by the Meeker Golf Course. This annual golf tournament is the primary fundraiser to support the Meeker Cowboy football team.
Teams for the four-man scramble are selected randomly allowing for the players to be mixed amongst their fans and show their appreciation to our very loyal community; tournament play begins at 1 p.m. Cost to enter is $85, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental and T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to first and second place winners, door prizes will be given and this year will be the first ever silent auction. The silent auction will be located at the clubhouse beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 5 p.m. Top auction item this year is a round of golf for four at Aspen Glen Club, Aspen, Colo. The team hopes to see everyone there.
