Rangely middle school volleyball team’s play Vernal

RANGELY | This past week the Rangely junior high volleyball teams had the opportunity to play against Vernal’s sixth grade on Tuesday afternoon. Even though they played in districts last weekend in Meeker, the girls were excited to play again.
The White team went up against Vernal first and came out ready to play. During this game we had three players in the first match that helped the team to win that match. The players who served to help the team with a win were Lexi LeBleu with seven, Alli Coker with seven and rounding up the serving for the win was Lilly Noel with six. During the second game Vernal came out ready to play but our girls continued to push and play their hearts out. Lexi LeBleu served a great game with eight, and Emma Winder had five.
Next up was the Green team and they were excited for the match. Vernal was warmed up and came out ready to play with a win in the first match. The girls knew they would have to push them to three to come up with a win, and that is what they did. The second match was a different tempo. The two girls top servers were Angelina Fortunato with eight and Jade Miller with 10. The White and Green teams have worked hard all season. The coaching staff looks forward for the return of the girls next year.
Saturday the Silver and Black teams played DeBeque Middle School. The Silver team came out strong with serving from three players to seal the win. The three top servers were Kastyn Dembowski with seven, Emma Smith with five and Laurie Ward nine. The next match the girls did not let up with some great serving from Miley Chism with four, Emmeree Wagner with four, and Laurie Ward finishing up the match with seven.
Next up was the Black team. The girls won the first match against Debeque with the top server for that game being Karlee Halcomb with nine. The second match both teams went back and forth with the serving until the Black team came up with the win. The top server for this match was Kyrah Phelps with five. The Silver and Black teams have worked hard all season. The coaches are excited for the return of the girls next year, but also excited to watch the eighth graders go to high school to play next year as freshmen. It has been a great season with all the amazing girls who have come out to play. The teams and coaches would like to thank all the parents, siblings, grandparents, family and friends for all the support this season.
