MEEKER | The Meeker Cowboys volleyball team headed to West Grand last Saturday to compete in a weekend long tournament against multiple teams. The Cowboys made it into the final two of the tournament where they took on the Cedaredge Bruins. They came out strong in the first set with a lead of 8 to 1 but fell short with too many errors that cost them the match. The Bruins figured out the Cowboy offense putting up a solid block on their hitters. The errors got the best of the team, placing them second in the tournament.
The top hitters came from the middle with Julia Dinwiddie and from the outside with Caleigh Morlan. This year’s varsity team is one to watch. The Cowboys take on three teams this week with two home games, Thursday against North Park and Friday against Vail Christian. After Friday, all three teams head to Vail Saturday for a game against Vail Mountain. Come out and support your Meeker Cowboys.
