DA to rule in shooting case

MEEKER — The district attorney’s office is reviewing the findings from a Colorado Bureau of Investigations report on the shooting at the Valley Motel, and a decision is expected soon.
Ninth Judicial District Attorney Martin Beeson said Tuesday he expects to review the CBI’s findings Tuesday and Wednesday, and may have a ruling late Wednesday on whether Meeker Police Officer Lt. Glenn Wilson responded properly during the incident.
Chris Boudreaux, 35, was shot March 28 by Lt. Wilson after the officer responded to a domestic disturbance call at Valley Motel, the business Boudreaux co-owned.
According to reports, Boudreaux waved a gun at himself and then pointed it at the officers who responded to the call.
The autopsy confirmed earlier reports that Boudreaux died of a single gunshot to the chest.
According to the autopsy, cocaine and methamphetamine were found in Boudreaux’s system, but the quantity of those drugs won’t be known until toxicology reports are completed, which should be soon.
Wilson was on routine paid administrative leave for several weeks after the shooting, but he has returned to “light duty” according to Police Chief Bob Hervey.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation was contacted by the Meeker Police Department to investigate the shooting incident involving the Meeker police officer.
Boudreaux, originally from Louisiana, and Jason Charlet purchased the Valley Motel in August 2007. Boudreaux, along with his wife and two children, lived on site and managed the motel.
