CNCC: Spring semester around the corner

RBC | The start of our spring semester has begun, and many students are back on campus. We are looking forward to a successful spring semester knowing that it is going to be different than other years, however, moving back to normal is our goal.

Our semester will start as we did in the fall with face-to-face, blended, and online classes. We will have students in our residence halls, provide dining services, and have opportunities for our students to enjoy the great outdoors in our region. We are truly committed to making this semester the best it can possibly be for all.

One thing that will be different this spring will be the reintroduction of intercollegiate sports. Barring any last-minute changes, our athletic teams will begin play starting in January. Volleyball and soccer, which are normally fall sports, will play games alongside the other sports that usually participate in the spring. Most, if not all, games will be against our SWAC (Scenic West Athletic Conference) counter parts from Idaho, Utah, and Nevada. Our coaches are excited about their players and feel we will be very competitive in one of the toughest conferences in the country. Although this puts a strain on our athletic department, they are prepared and excited for the athletic seasons to begin. We are waiting to learn what limitations may be set on attendance at the games, but will share that information as soon as it is available.

Although we will continue to have some restrictions this semester, our plan is to continue giving our students a complete college experience as they work toward their goals. All of us will be working closely with the students, our communities, our county public health departments, and others in hopes that this semester will go as smooth as our fall semester. CNCC is dedicated to keeping our students, community members, staff, and faculty safe and still provide an excellent experience for those who have made us their college of choice.

As our students start returning, we want to take this time to thank everyone for the support and dedication to CNCC. Because of this support, CNCC is a great place for our students, staff, faculty, and communities and will continue to be a shining star in northwest Colorado.
