MEEKER I Meeker participated in the Chris Severy Invitational in Aspen on Saturday. Cool temperatures and intermittent sprinkles made the already tough course that much more difficult. The girls raced first, with Brighton Bair finishing in 20th place, in 25:18. Callie Stout ran the course in 37:36, for 77th place.
In the boys race, Eddie Drussell held off two competitors right to the finish to take 26th, in a time of 22:59. Gabe Smithers was our second to the line, and 34th, at 23:26. Wyatt Rollins managed the terrain in 24:28, 51st place, and Owen Hannemann was 63rd at 25:07.
“We certainly do not expect top times at Aspen, but the scenery is a worthy trade,” said head coach Marty Casey.
Meeker was in Rifle on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
