After attending the public meeting of the Yellow Jacket Water Conservancy District on April 17, I came away feeling the board of directors missed great opportunities.
They missed an opportunity to listen, take notes and to understand the concerns of landowners.
They missed an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to lead the Yellow Jacket Water Conservancy District.
They missed an opportunity to bridge a gap with the community by allowing their attorney to deliver a 45-minute monologue.
They missed an opportunity to reduce speculation and increase the level of understanding of the citizens.
They missed an opportunity to share their concerns and encourage cooperation in saving the White River.
They missed an opportunity to help the public understand the challenges to our agricultural lands … and keeping them green.
Like trust, missed opportunities are very difficult to recoup.
