Team Mission: Forging lifelong athletes for a Higher Purpose

Team Values:

  • Composed: We are calm, collected, and in control in all circumstances.
  • Humble: We have a balanced ego.
  • Respectful: We are considerate and gracious to all.
  • Intentional: Every action is by design.
  • Selfless: We live for a purpose beyond ourselves.
  • Tough: We are tenacious to win and resilient through adversity.

Parent’s meeting:

  • Date: 10/3/2023
  • Time: 19:00 – 19:30
  • Location: High School

First day of practice: 12/4/2023 at 18:30

Weekly practice structure:

  • 4 days per week: 2 days wrestling, and 2 days doing age-appropriate strength and conditioning
  • 1st-4th graders: wrestling on Monday and Wednesday; age-appropriate strength & conditioning on Tuesday and Thursday
  • 5th-8th graders: wrestling on Tuesday and Thursday; age-appropriate strength & conditioning on Monday and Wednesday

Season Overview

  • Dates: 12/4/2023 through Elementary/Middle School state on 3/26/2024
  • 3 Rocky Mountain National Tournaments as a team: Who’s Bad in Pueblo, CO (12/30/2023); New Mexico National Showdown in Albuquerque, NM (1/13/2024); Wild West Championships in Casper, WY (1/20/2024)
  • Our home Athlos Wrestling Games (date TBD)
  • As many local (Western Slope) tournaments as possible
  • Elementary/Middle School Regionals: 3/16/2023
  • Elementary/Middle School State: 3/26/2023

Tuition:

  • $85 per wrestler, or $70 per each additional wrestler for families with more than one wrestler
  • All wrestlers competing with us will be required to wear an Athlos Singlet (same singlet as last year).  If your child still fits in that singlet, use it.  If your child has outgrown it, feel free to trade with other families.  For everyone needing to purchase one, they are approximately $90 and will be available for purchase through a link to RUDIS (provided soon, likely at the parent meeting).  RUDIS will have other options for apparel on their link as well.
  • Team shirts and hoodies will be through Craft Shack Creations.
  • For families whose financial commitment would be difficult, please reach out to me (Justin Grant) directly for other opportunities to have your athlete on our team.  We do not want finances to be an insurmountable obstacle preventing amazing growth and opportunity exposure for your children.

Important note to middle schoolers: Once Barone Middle School wrestling starts, all middle school wrestlers will be on the middle school wrestling team and representing Barone Middle School, not Athlos.  Anyone who wishes to attend middle school regionals and state will need to clear it with the middle school coach, Stryker Lane, first.  These wrestlers will represent Barone Middle School and wear Barone Middle School singlets.  In Meeker, we are one wrestling community.

Meeker PeeWee Wrestling will start the week following elementary and middle school state.
