Casey Turner Memorial…

Thanks to coaches, parents, current and past wrestlers volunteering their time, the Meeker Community Wrestling Club hosted the Casey Turner Memorial youth wrestling tournament Saturday, providing an opportunity for more than 330 young wrestlers to compete.

Panthers drop 2 to Eagles

RANGELY I The Paonia Eagles traveled to Rangely and took two wins from the hometown Panthers in a doubleheader Saturday. The Panthers have one game left in the regular season before district playoffs.

Wrestlers do well in Hayden

RANGELY I The Rangely youth wrestling team continued its success in Hayden on Saturday with 20 kids wrestling, including 13 in the championship match. Many of the young Panthers will be in Meeker on Saturday for the Casey Turner Memorial Tournament.

RHS to host invite Saturday

RANGELY I “Even though we are dealing with injuries and illnesses, the athletes who are healthy are really stepping it up, which makes me proud,” Panthers head track coach Stephanie Kahler said of her team’s performances over the weekend in Coal Ridge and Glenwood Springs.

Rangely youth wrestlers do well in Craig

RBC I The Rangely Panthers youth wrestling team traveled to Craig last Saturday for the Levi Weber Memorial Tournament with 27 wrestlers. They returned from Moffat County with all placing in the top four.

MHS tracksters earn bests

RBC I The competition at the annual Frank Woodburn Invitational Track Meet included all classifications on Saturday at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction, where several Meeker athletes placed, while others set personal-best performances.

Dual Panthers win events

RANGELY I For the second week in a row, Rangely senior Holly Lepro won the discus competition. The most recent win was in the Palisade meet, held at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction against teams from larger schools.
