RANGELY I The lady Panthers varsity volleyball team won two more league games last weekend and are currently tied for second in the league with Meeker, who they will play Friday before ending the regular season at home against the current league leader Paonia.

RHS beats Vail Christian 30-6
RANGELY I The Rangely Panthers football team won their third game of the season with a 30-6 win over the Vail Christian Saints, who were undefeated until the Panthers came marching in.

The Meeker varsity volleyball team wore pink shorts in honor of October being national breast cancer awareness month in their homecoming game against the visiting Hotchkiss Bulldogs last Friday, which the lady Cowboys won in three games.

RANGELY I The lady Panthers lost to Vail Mountain at home last Friday but traveled to Walden the next day and beat the lady Wildcats in five games.
MHS graduate passes PAT test
MEEKER I Meeker High School graduate Trey Morris, a freshman enrolled at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS), took and passed the Player’s Ability Test (PAT) last week in Pueblo.

RBC I A meeting called by Rio Blanco County commissioners was held in Rangely Tuesday at Colorado Northwestern Community College to bring all the taxing districts in the county together to discuss current and future projects and how they can take advantage of opportunities by working together.

Meeker High School juniors Dylan Mobley and Mariah Jensen were crowned king and queen for the 2012 homecoming. Seniors Anne George and Scott Smith were first attendants and Jeremy Musgrave and Linda Olivas were second attendants.

RANGELY I The Panther football team lost 30-69 to the Hayden Tigers last Friday on Yaeger Field in Rangely for their second league loss of the season.
Lady Panthers split league games
RANGELY I The lady Panthers volleyball team traveled to Paonia and Hayden last weekend for two league matches, losing in Paonia but winning in Hayden last Saturday. Rangely will host Vail Mountain Friday in the “Think Pink” game, played in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Homecoming 2012 …
Everyone is invited to the Meeker Homecoming parade at 2 p.m. Friday, following a barbecue on the courthouse lawn to benefit the MHS athletic department starting at 11:30 a.m. Meeker will host the Paonia Eagles in volleyball and football Friday night.
Community notified of SVP
MEEKER I Law enforcement officials held a community notification meeting Sept. 26, to inform the public of a Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) living in Meeker.
