Washington artist is two-time winner of art contest
MEEKER I Debbie Hughbanks of Loon Lake, Wash., won the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials art contest for a second time. Hughbanks was unable to attend the art reception but MCSCT art contest director Mary Francis and MCSCT director Maym Cunningham displayed her piece “Taking Control” in her absence.
RHS Homecoming parade marshals
Kurt and Vicki Douglas were the Grand Marshals for the 2012 Homecoming parade and Angie Fortunato and Clay Allred served as crown bearers for the annual event.

Panthers receive new scoreboard
RANGELY I A new scoreboard was installed and dedicated last week at the 2012 homecoming game against the Nucla Mustangs. The Panthers lit up the new scoreboard, scoring 61 points, while only allowing the Mustangs 6.
Barlau wins O.F.I.C. tourney
MEEKER I Mark Barlau of Glenwood Springs defended his title as champion of the Old Farts In Carts (O.F.I.C.) tournament played last Saturday at the Meeker Golf Course. The field of 27 golfers, split into two flights, featured more than 20 from out of town.

Barone Middle School football team
The Barone Middle School football teams opened the season in Starbuck Stadium last Saturday against Rangely and won both the seventh- and eighth-grade games but lost two games to Craig last Saturday.
Rangely volleyball team wins at home vs. Soroco
RANGELY I The Rangely High School volleyball team remained undefeated in league games after winning its homecoming match against Soroco Friday last and beating Vail Christian the following day.
