RANGELY I The Rangely girls’ basketball team pounded the lady Cowboys from Plateau Valley 48-30 at home and will finish the regular season on the road, in Meeker Friday and Paonia Saturday. “It wasn’t pretty but it was a win,” head coach Jimmie Mergelman said.

RBC to hold mail ballots

RBC I Rio Blanco County commissioners passed a resolution during their regular meeting Monday last designating Nancy Amick the election official and they authorized the county clerk and recorder to conduct the June 26, primary election by mail ballot.

Citizens of the year

Dr. David and Bev Steinman were named the citizens of the year by the Meeker Chamber of Commerce at its annual membership dinner Saturday last. Bev and her son David Steele accepted the award.

RBC I The Rio Blanco County planning commission continued a public hearing until today at 7 p.m. regarding an application for a Special Use Permit (SUP) and Certificate of Designation (CD) for the operation of a solid waste disposal facility by Western Gravel LLC.
