Dick Welle to retire from WREA after 38 years

RBC I On Oct. 1, Dick Welle will no longer be standing by the window of his second-story office, overlooking the domain that has filled his life for 38 years. On that date, he is stepping down as general manager of White River Electric Association (WREA).

Commissioners approve cell tower, defend 2nd amendment

RBC I Rio Blanco County commissioners signed a resolution to approve a Special Use Permit, with eight conditions, for Mercury Towers to construct a 105-foot telecommunication tower on land owned by Joe and Kelly Conrado.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the local VFW Post 5483 presented the colors at the Meeker v. Moffat County wrestling dual last Friday and will present them again this Saturday before matches with Rangely, Battle Mountain, Hayden, Basalt and Soroco starting at noon.

RDH open house …

Rangely District Hospital will host an open house in the new hospital Friday, Dec. 14, giving tours of the new facility starting at 11 a.m. The new hospital is expected to open Jan. 7, 2013.
