RBC I Rio Blanco County Democrats will hold their County Assembly at the Western Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation and Park Center, 620 South Stanolind in Rangely, at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Summit County Dem Emily Tracy challenges incumbent Baumgardner

RBC I Participants in the Meeker and Rangely Democratic precinct caucuses on Tuesday learned that Democrat Emily Tracy of Breckenridge is challenging State Sen. Randy Baumgardner, R-Hot Sulfur Springs, in his re-election bid. Senate District 8 is composed of Garfield, Grand, Jackson, Moffat, Routt, Rio Blanco and Summit counties.

Better City contracts signed by Meeker, Rio Blanco County

RBC I Earlier this month, Rio Blanco County and the Town of Meeker signed a contract to run through the rest of the year with Better City LLC for the facilitation of strategies for Better City’s “Economic Development Strategies Phase IV Report—Recommended Action Plan.”

Meeker officially joins ‘Main Street Program’

MEEKER I Cassie McGuire, owner of McGuire Auto Parts and former president of the Meeker Chamber of Commerce, is excited. She feels that getting Meeker involved in the state’s “Main Street Program” will help the community coordinate its efforts, set goals and accomplish needed projects.

Reservoir a part of Better City’s plans

RBC I Last week, the Herald Times reviewed the aspects of the Better City consulting “Phase IV— Recommended Action Plan” affecting Rangely and Meeker. The plan has one additional element aimed at the county as a whole—the Wolf Creek Reservoir project.

MSD approves rest of budget: $399,299 shortfall

MEEKER I The highlight of the Jan. 19 Meeker School Board meeting was the re-approval of the Fiscal Year/School Year 2015-2016 district budget of $6,299,485. Included in this budget is a projected deficit of $399,229, which will come out of the district’s reserves.
