Health fairs slated for Saturday

RBC I With health fairs in Meeker and Rangely on Saturday, residents of Rio Blanco County will have two chances to have their health checked for free or low-cost and to gather information regarding known and unknown health problems they may have.

Spring Expo will fund patient travel

MEEKER I The inaugural Spring Expo event will be held Friday and Saturday at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds in Meeker and is being put on to help raise funds for a local cancer patient.

Warrant leads to arrest

MEEKER I A search warrant served on a residence in Meeker resulted in the arrest of a 35-year-old local man on two drug charges.

Jail incarcerations see sharp decrease since 2009

RBC I The Rio Blanco County Jail is still a busy place, but the number of persons incarcerated at the facility has seen a steady decrease since 2009, which was, by far, the highest incarceration year in the last six.

From my window I saw a very involved, well-thought-out, thorough report called, “A Vision for Strategic Planning” that was “respectfully submitted to the Strategic Planning Project and the Administration and Board of Directors of Meeker School District Re-1” by Robert D. Amick.

Rio Blanco County crime holds steady

RBC I The incidence of crime in Rio Blanco County during 2012 remained in line with figures from 2011, with some figures showing slight increases and other types of incidents showing slight decreases.

Thin ice and thick ice on Kenney Reservoir, east of Rangely, offer a stark color contrast with the flow nearest the dam taking on an emerald green hue while the remaining thick ice at the upper end of the lake remains solid white.
