MEEKER I There is something calming about taking time to converse in this increasingly busy world. Doris Layton is a woman who is willing to take the time. She always has a smile on her face and something positive to say in her own easy-talking way.
Lady Cowboys lose two
MEEKER I The weekend wasn’t what the Meeker girls’ basketball team was hoping for. Last Friday, the girls traveled to Paonia to meet the defending state champions. In their previous game, Meeker surprised the Eagles with a hard-hitting full court press to lasso a six point win.

Hughes, Scherbarth compete in state finals
RBC I Logan Hughes (11) and Chris Scherbarth (9) competed in the 38th annual Elks Lodge State Hoop Shoot Championship in Salida, Colo., on Feb. 26.
