Historical society meets Sunday afternoon

MEEKER I This Sunday, the Rio Blanco County Historical Society will host a quarterly meeting of the members at the Kilowatt Korner, Sixth and Market St. A potluck dinner will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a short business meeting, and then a presentation.

Trey Morris wins showdown at state fair

MEEKER I There were greater rewards this year for hog exhibitors at the Colorado State Fair. The Showmaster Showdown, a competition that awarded the top youth hog exhibitor with a $1,000 college savings bond, 100 pounds of Showmaster feed and an embroidered camp chair.

Voter registration deadline is Monday

RBC I Monday is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2 general election. Mail-in ballot applications (formerly known as absentee ballots) are available at the county clerk’s office in Meeker (555 Main St.) or at the Western Annex in Rangely (17497 Highway 64).
