A memorial service for Herb Blagg, who died April 22, will be held Friday at the Meeker Christian Church at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Twin Peaks Bible Camp would be appreciated in his name. Blagg, 81, was a longtime pharmacist in Meeker.

Local, state candidates address Meeker Tea Party

Players honored for accomplishments at end-of-season basketball banquet
MEEKER I The boys’ basketball team culminated its season April 18 at its annual banquet, hosted by the senior players’ parents. MHS coaches Neil Joy and Matt Dupire handed out junior varsity participation certificates to 11 younger members of the team who did not compete at the varsity level.

Herbert Bruce Blagg, 81, of Morriston, Fla., died Apr. 22, 2010. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends at Haven Hospice.
Barone track teams will host meet this Saturday

MHS art show starts next week
MEEKER I High school art students show off some of the work they have created in the annual Spring Art Show. This year’s show will be up at the Meeker Recreation Center, starting Tuesday and running through Thursday during regular business hours.
Panther boys take fourth; girls seventh at Vernal
RANGELY I The Panther track team went across the state line to compete against Utah teams in Vernal last Friday. The boys’ team placed fourth out of 10 teams with 40 points. The girls’ team placed seventh out of 10 teams with 30 points.
