Weed-free hay keeps federal wildlife habitat healthy

During the hunting seasons and other times of the year the BLM/Forest Service office in Meeker routinely answers questions about the requirement to use certified weed-free hay on public lands in Colorado. It’s a simple thing that can make a big difference in the quality of big game habitat.

Breakfast with Santa is Dec. 6 in Meeker

MEEKER — No doubt about it, the season is officially underway after you eat breakfast with Santa. The whole family can do just that on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Rio Blanco County fairgrounds extension building during the free ERBM Rec. and Park District-sponsored event “Breakfast with Santa.”

Rec. district Holiday Social is Dec. 5

MEEKER — The sixth annual free Holiday Social sponsored by the ERBM Rec. and Park District is Friday, Dec. 5. This event is for older adults 50 and older who enjoy visiting with friends, eating great food, being entertained by charming children and receiving gifts given in love.
