With little time to spare the Barone Middle School boys finished football on Friday and picked up basketball on Monday with their first games last Saturday. Amy Chinn and Brandon Sanders are coaching the eighth grade team and Sean VonRoenn is coaching seventh grade.
There are 40 boys out combined for seventh and eighth grade this year. Saturday they were able to have an A, B and C team for both grades.
“Everyone got lots of playing time,” commented Chinn. “They each played a game and then had a short scrimmage.”
For the first time ever, the 8A team lost to a much improved Sleeping Giant. The other teams fared as follows: 8B won, 8C lost, 7A won, 7B won, and 7C won.
This coming weekend they take on Rangely Friday at home and travel to Soroco on Saturday.
