This past weekend, the Barone Middle School boys’ basketball team hosted a triangular tournament that included Craig and Soroco. After Saturday’s games, Coach Kurtis Dunbar expressed satisfaction with the seventh-grade team’s performance.

“Today we delivered high-effort performances in all games,” Dunbar said.

In the first game, Meeker’s A team defeated Craig A with a score of 24-17. Gael led with 12 points, followed by Case with 10, and Ollie with 2. Meeker’s B team faced Craig’s B team in the second game, resulting in a 22-10 win for Craig’s B. Despite the loss, Owen scored 4 points for Meeker, with Rylan, Jaxson, and Dylan B each contributing 2 points. Meeker’s A team returned strong in the third game, beating Soroco’s B team 33-5. Case scored 11 points, Tyler 10, and Gael 6, with White, Thomas, and Dillon K. each adding 2 points.

“The weekend’s games showed great team effort and determination from the Meeker Cowboys as they played with intensity and sportsmanship,” Dunbar said.
