The Barone Middle School cross country season ended this weekend with rain and a lot of mud. Meeker hosted the final meet with Soroco, Craig, and West Grand braving the rain storm. The sky looked promising until about 10 minutes before the start of the boys’ race. By the time their race started the clouds had rolled in and continued to dump rain throughout their 2-mile race. Fortunately, minutes before the girls’ race, the rain let up and they had a bit of sunshine; however, the course was flowing with streams, puddles, and lots of slippery mud!
“Even with all the rain and mud, all athletes had a great time and amazing races on this challenging course,” commented head coach Kris Casey. “ What a great way to end the season, true cross country runners were seen today!”
