MEEKER | On Saturday the Barone Middle School cross country team traveled to Delta for their last meet of the season. The course was shy of two miles and absent of hills, lending the possibility of fast times.
“The runners took advantage of the course and had incredible races and times,” commented head coach Kris Casey.
Over 131 runners competed in the middle school boys’ race and the Barone runners did well in the field. Leading the pack and in the top 10 was Ashton Tapia, he placed 10th in a time of 11 minutes 35.5 seconds. Not far behind him in 19th place was Bradley Conrado in a time of 12:05.9. Ryan Hanberg placed 37th in a time of 12:29.3. Close behind was Jonan VonRoenn in 43rd with a time of 13:09.6. Completing the BMS top five was Landon Damitz in 68th place in a time of 14:33.7. Aiden Leatham finished in 14:43.7, Hoyt Garcia in 15:12.7, Troy Browning in 15:16.4, Jackson Steele in 15:17.3, Dexter Chinn in 16:35, Lucas Robinson in 17:19.2, Colton Ruder in 17:35.3, Asa Scofield in 17:42.2, and Talen Walker in 18:52.
“Coach Sean Damitz and I are incredibly proud of these boys and the amount of work they have put in towards improving and running hard this season,” said Casey. “We look forward to seeing them continue thier running in the future.”
