MEEKER | Inspired by a service that delivered and picked library books for her homebound mother in Jefferson County, former Meeker Elementary School teacher Peggy Strate has volunteered to start a similar program in Meeker.
“It’s for anybody who has a hard time getting to the library,” Strate said. All that’s required is a phone call to the library (970-878-5911). The library will then contact Strate. She will call to find out what kind of books the person likes, pick some out, deliver them, and pick them up again.
The library also offers large print and audiobooks for people who have vision problems.
