Christmasfest Grinch-style

RANGELY I If this year’s Christmasfest celebrations can survive the Grinch, Rangely residents should have plenty to do the week of Dec. 10. Bertha Tolley, who has helped plan Christmasfest for several years, came up with “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” theme.

RANGELY | Bethany Green of Rangely is this week’s “home of” honoree. Bethany has lived here 22 years. Her parents are longtime Rangely residents Steve and Vivian Green.

Youngsters have best understanding of giving

RANGELY I It’s the season for giving, but those gifts don’t always come wrapped in bright packages. Sometimes they come in the form of ponytails bundled with rubber bands. Like the 14 inches of hair Rangely second-grader Mariah Henson donated two Saturdays ago.

Rangely Elks Club Exalted Ruler Herman “Tink” Wilson and Elks Club treasurer Rene Harden presented close to 40 Spanish-English dictionaries to Parkview Elementary School third-graders recently.

Kindergarten thanks…

Parkview Elementary School’s afternoon kindergarten class spent several days preparing to say “thank you” in the languages of 20 countries across the world. At Monday afternoon’s moral focus assembly, the kindergarteners presented their countries’ colored flags, saying their learned phrase into a microphone.
