RBC I The Bureau of Land Management announced it is extending the deadline for submitting proposals from May 14 to June 7, for public-private partnerships to establish wild horse “ecosanctuaries” on private or other non-BLM managed land.

Tax receipts down
RBC I Sales and use tax numbers for the first quarter of 2011 are in. Sales and use tax receipts include collected taxes for retail sales, motor vehicle use tax and building materials use tax. These numbers are unaudited and subject to change.
County approves new pipeline
RBC I A special use permit for the construction and operation of a new pipeline, submitted by Enterprise Gas Processing, LLC, was approved by Rio Blanco County Commissioners.

Recycle old tech equipment
RBC | The Meeker School District and Rio Blanco County are again offering our annual tech recycling program for Rio Blanco County citizens. Bring your old tech (computers, TVs, cell phones, printers, monitors, radios, etc.) for proper recycling for $5 an item.
EHV-1 outbreak confirmed in Colorado
RBC | No outside horses are allowed at Columbine Park in Rangely or the fairgrounds in Meeker because of an outbreak of Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1) in the state, which continues to be investigated by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
Alumni basketball game Sunday, May 29
MEEKER | The annual senior versus faculty basketball game will be played this Sunday at Meeker High School at 6 p.m., followed by the odd-year alumni versus even-year alumni game.
