When a disaster strikes, the Red Cross Western Colorado Chapter promises to do what it takes to be there for those in need. Until recently, that included relying on MacGyver-like skills and a run-down emergency response truck better fit for the set of the Dukes of Hazzard.
Rain fails to dampen celebratory spirits in county events
It was a big weekend on both ends of the county. Meeker celebrated the 125th anniversary of Range Call, making this year’s event even bigger than usual. While Rangely celebrated the Fourth of July holiday with kids’ activities in Elks Park and fireworks at Kenney Reservoir.

Temperatures are climbing and so are fire indicators in northwest Colorado. Fire danger is very high in Rio Blanco and Moffat counties and moderate to high in Routt, Jackson and Grand Counties.
