Foreclosures remain status quo, buck national trend

RBC — County Treasurer Karen Arnold gave the quarterly trustee report at the April 28 meeting of the Rio Blanco County commissioners. In spite of national trends in the housing market, Arnold said Rio Blanco County has been, “staying about status quo.”

Incidents rise in January

RBC — The number of incidents received by the Rio Blanco County Communications Center rose from 764 in January 2007, to 957 in January 2008, an increase of 25.26 percent according to a report released last week.

Prescribed burns are planned for region

RBC — Federal fire officials from the Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unit are preparing several prescribed burns this spring in Eagle, Garfield, Pitkin and Rio Blanco counties. The purpose of these prescribed burns is to reduce fuels and improve wildlife habitat.
