Cowboy wrestlers win Rangely’s tourney, to face top state teams
MEEKER I The Meeker High School wrestling Cowboys easily won the Vern Rose Memorial Wrestling Tournament in Rangely on Saturday, and this week the squad will wrestle in the Screaming Eagle Wrestling Tournament in Paonia, which will feature five of the top six 2A teams in Colorado.
Meeker’s Shelton wins at ToC, is named tourney Outstanding Wrestler
MEEKER I For the second year in a row, Meeker’s three-time defending state champion T.J. Shelton has won the competitive Tournament of Champions, and this year he was also named the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.

MEEKER I With almost half of the varsity wrestlers taking ACT tests on Dec. 12, seven Cowboys wrestled in the Panther Invitational and three placed in the top three.

MEEKER I T.J. Shelton has won many wrestling tournaments in his career, including three Colorado state titles, but he had never won a Warrior Classic title until his senior season.

MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboy wrestling team opened the season in Grand Junction at the Maverick Duals on the Colorado Mesa University campus on Saturday and won all five of its duals. Meeker will compete in the Panther Invitational in Delta on Saturday.
