Numbers are important in sports. Especially the ones on the scoreboard. But it’s not the only measure of a team, or of an athlete. That’s why Rangely football coach Tim Galloway likes his guys. Even though he may not have a lot of them.

RHS golfers open season
RANGELY I After only three days of practice, Rangely Senior High golfers participated in their first tournament Aug. 12 at Battlement Mesa Golf Course. Playing a tough course and in windy conditions, the Panthers struggled according to coach Ellen Boudreaux.
Meeker golf team comes out swinging
MEEKER I School hadn’t started but the 2010 golf season for Meeker High School had. Coach Klark Kindler and his team opened the season in Grand Valley last week and improved their scores in Grand Junction Aug. 17.
Legion takes fourth at state tournament
RBC I It wasn’t the showing they were hoping for, but just the fact they made to it to state was quite an accomplishment. Rio Blanco County’s American Legion baseball team finished fourth at last weekend’s state tournament in Craig, winning one game and losing two.
